Abstract: This 21 -page-paper presents a detailed and in-depth discussion on the World Trade Organization. It opens with a history of how the WTO began and details the historical events that preceded its inception. It then moves into detailed descriptions of its various functions and the way it affects its members. Involved in the discussion are the economic crisis of Asia, as well as the effect WTO has on third world nations. The conclusion ties it all together with a discussion on what the future holds for the WTO including the current debate on WTO's responsibility when it comes to intellectual property.
